ChristmasCon Virtual 2020

So what is ChristmasCon I hear you ask well, it’s an Event put on by That's4Entertainment and the stars of the Hallmark Christmas Movies. Talking to us about all things Christmas, Hallmark Movies and family traditions. It’s a chance to ask your favourite Christmas Movie stars about their Christmases! Some of the answers may surprise you! There were 4 panels with different actors on and they got asked a variety of different questions.

I was so excited when my question got asked, which was “Have you had any major Christmas Disaster-burnt turkey etc?” the answers were great! Melissa Joan Hart regailed us with a story about her cat stealing the turkey off the Christmas table and eating it, she said they couldn’t rescue it though! I can just imagine her running around a kitchen chasing after this cat with a turkey!

We had a similar thing happen to my family where my cat and dog worked as team to get this roast dinner meat from off the side and ate it (unfortunately it was defrosting) so it was raw and they both promptly threw up all over the ground floor of our house! They felt quite sorry for themselves after that! I don’t think that was at Christmas time though. I do have a funny story (well it’s funny now it wasn’t great at the time) where my father had bought my mum a grow your own mushroom kit (he was always a bit of a prankster.) However my mother was not amused but that was just a joke present and he had bought her a lot of vouchers for Christmas but in the confusion of unwrapping Christmas presents they must have got thrown away. So that year he really did get her a mushroom kit although the following year she got a camera!

Lacey Chabert also had a funny story about her relative bringing an illness bug when they came to visit and then promptly making the entire family sick and they all ended up in A and E or ER. She said that it wasn’t one she was looking to repeat again! So I put on my Instagram stories I had ended up in hospital over Christmas in 2014 and she replied to my message ! I was so shocked, what a lovely lady!

Each panel was asked what there Christmas Wish was and they all said for the Pandemic to be over and to spend time with family which I thought was lovely! It really summed up how everyone was feeling ! They also said how they hoped that the Christmas movies they are making will bring people joy in this difficult time!

I did notice that one panel member seemed to be less Hallmark-y than the other members and I think some of their remarks about how they were confused as to why people we were so into ChristmasCon was a bit disappointing, Although I felt like the other two panel members said that people just love nostalgia and the magic of Christmas and for me that is why I love it!

Christmases have definitely been interesting in recent years, getting engaged at Christmas in 2010 when my hubby put my ring at the bottom of my Christmas stocking, to being ill over Christmas and ending up in hospital in 2014 after my kidneys failed for the second time (but not before we got to see Michael Bublé‘s Christmas Concert) to 2016 having has my kidney transplant and actually enjoying Christmas food to having my daughter a month early and getting home just in time for Christmas Day was just magical in 2018!

Phoebe’s first Christmas (second Christmas really)

I loved some of the questions that got asked especially about the Elf on the Shelf. I’m in two mind whether we send an invite to elf on the shelf but as my daughter knows the word elf I think we may have to start it! I think our elf maybe able to help with the advent presents and maybe a few pranks/funny scenes! My daughter loves her elf chase book, so I think it’s a natural progress plus it means that I can cause mischief which is always fun, might throw in a few pranks on hubby too, just to get him in the festive spirit too! (I’m not a huge Halloween fan as I don’t do scary but causing a bit of mayhem with an elf will be great! Haha!)

I will do another blog post going into the questions and answers they gave from the panel members but I’m going to have rewatch the video and write it all down!

I was also shocked that one panel members only puts up a tree and that’s it! I nearly cried! My philosophy is more is more at Christmas ! You can’t be shy at Christmas, it’s the one time of year where it’s ok to go overboard! Don’t worry I don’t just throw stuff any where, I have different themes for different rooms and there is order to the madness! I love the American style of stuffing their trees to the brim with decorations (in a good way-they are like pieces of art to me) I love the way they use the ribbons, they do this fancy criss-cross pattern that looks stunning! I’m definitely taking inspiration from that style this year!

Any way another blog to follow with the best questions that the panel got asked and their answers very shortly!

Merry Christma, Happy ChristmasConXX
