Bank holiday

Bank holidays in England are notorious for having miserable weather and we braced ourselves for typical summer weather (rain and one minute of sun).......but we have had some glorious weather this time. We had people over for dinner on Saturday and made homemade cottage pie which was so filling I definitely had food baby. I don't think the chocolate mice and profiteroles helped me as I waddled off to bed rather full. It is nice to now be able to have a proper space to have dinner parties (finally moved our massive wardrobe from the living room to our bedroom)! We did grab a few new things for the house to make it prettier! A lovely runner and fabric napkins, a new mirror and a large vase - all coastal themed (well it makes sense as we live by the sea now!)

We went on a boat trip to Portland, where we had a nice lunch at The Boat that Rocks (although we had to wait for food for what seemed like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggeeeeesssss- I may have started gnawing on the picnic bench if it had been any longer!)

It was the perfect long weekend and we made the best of it! It was lovely to cook for people as we do enjoy doing a spot of cooking!

The problem with a bank holiday is it always flies by! Then you go back to work, which then takes the whole week to figure what day you're on. It's also nice to have an extra day off but the worst time is summer when we get about 10 weeks off because you get so used to being off it’s hard to go back! It’s not long till the end of the school year and half term isn’t far away so I hope the weather will be as nice as it was this bank holiday.

Right back to work I go, Toodles Xx
