Valentine’s Day
Sorry it’s a bit late but Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Over the years we have celebrated Valentine’s Day in various different ways but for me I do enjoy the romantic meals at home! I also enjoy being creative with my hubby’s presents! I think the best one was a chocolate fountain (which I did have a bit of a disaster with-the chocolate went all over the wall-oops!)
I like to set up our Valentine’s meals, picking special starters and mains with some delicious puddings! One year we had king prawns and mussels.
Then for our mains we had some steaks and chips which was a real treat as we don’t normally eat stuff like that! This was many years ago now (crazy how time flies!)
I tried to make a bit of effort with my outfit but I just ran out of time getting the house ready and cleaning up the chocolate mess!
And now fast forward to Valentine’s Day 2018 and we have been married nearly 7 years and been together for 10 years this year and one kidney transplant later. This is how we celebrated nowadays! We went on a lunch date at Prezzo and then just relaxed in the evening! We don’t go out in the evening because it’s sooooo awkward seeing couples arguing because someone didn’t get the right gift or didn’t propose or make enough effort!
Anyway, I had lobster and crab tortellini with an extra spoon for the dessert (trying not to eat too many naughty things). It was lovely and again a real treat as we don’t eat lobster much!
It’s lovely to look back at our Valentine’s Day, although we do it as an extra day to celebrate our love for each other not as just one day! We make more of a fuss on our wedding anniversary as it’s more special and personal to us!
