Barbados Look Book
When I was shopping for our honeymoon, I wanted to get some lovely new clothes that would look great in the Caribbean. I was slimmer than I am now so I bought some lovely dresses and key pieces ( I think everything was from Primark).
I loved this dress, it was a beautiful coral chiffon dress with elbow length sleeves. I paired it with a coral beaded necklace, a brown wooden belt and a wooden chunky bracelet (which annoyingly kept catching on my dress-due to the metal leaf pattern on it) and a coral hair fascinator (which I lost in the sea somehow-crying face)!
I wore it to the airport as my travel outfit which was lovely because it was loose and comfy.
This outfit was for an evening meal out on Gibbs Beach the first night we got there. It is a long maxi dress, which I paired with a pale pink butterfly belt to give it a bit of shape (or hold it in place-lol!) and then wore some blue wheel earrings which matched the pattern on the dress. I had a few bracelets including a cute pink shell one that I thought matched the belt. I was enjoying a lovely dinner and mocktail there but more about that in another post. It was comfy but looked pretty for going out in, plus it was soooooo hot I didn't want to wear any thick material (soooo humid, hence why I didn't have any make up on because it would just slide off my face-not a good look!)
I really liked this dress, it was so comfy but also looked pretty and elegant. I like that it was fitted at the waist and then flows out. I had a green one but not sure I wore it in Barbados. I think it suited my figure well and was very easy to wear and just chuck on from being at the beach or out of the pool. I was enjoying sitting on the veranda reading a magazine. Oh I was wearing my special flipflops that leave 'Just Married' in the sand (bought from a wedding fair).
This is the only dress I bought on Asos for my holiday. It's a spotty dress (which you can see in this other picture better-to the right.) I actually wore it like this in Barbados with those gold ballet pumps but with a necklace instead. I think we had flying fish at this point.
At the beach I like to cover up so I wore this beach dress. I'm so fair (OK pasty) that I try not to show too much skin so I don't get burnt. I did feel quite glam in this though and it was very floaty which made it comfy to wear and easy to throw over my swimwear. I wore the same shell necklace and my pink sunglasses which basically cover my face and my just married flipflops.
This is one of my favourite dresses I wore: it had oranges, lemons and limes on it which I paired with a short sleeved cardigan. I also wore long orange dangly earrings and mini ice cream necklace.
I loved this dress too and I'm annoyed I got rid of it. It would go with my style now and it was a great dress to swish about in. I paired it with my wide cream belt and my cream headband (all of which I don't own anymore-crying face!)
Other evening outfits I wore: a long black dress with a gold and black headband and my butterfly belt. I also wore the green version of my blue dress and a light pink dress with little horses on it.
Our final evening in Barbados and I did have to re-wear a previous outfit but it was so cute. I tried to pick special outfits for our honeymoon and our evening meals out. I did get sunburnt on the Catamaran so I look rather pink in these last photos - rather like a beetroot! (separate post on swimming with turtles).
