Christmas Day

So Christmas had arrived and after several months of preparation and buying presents, making presents, wrapping presents, giving presents to friends, dropping off presents to the hospital and then finally going on a ferry journey to the Isle of Wight, dragging various suitcases full of presents on and off trains and then a ferry! Next year gift vouchers might be better! Lol! Although with any luck I will hopefully be at home with our own little one! (That’s the dream!) I can’t wait to have our own baby and celebrate Christmas together at home in Dorset! Anyway back to this Christmas we had a lovely time and had great fun with the family, our cute nephews!

(Above stockings for the kidney ward)

All of the luggage, I think we definitely were overpacking but we had a few bulky things! So after hauling all of this about and reaching my in-laws, we quickly settled in before popping to church to sing some Christmas carols which was lovely.

It was a little service but a cute one with the children doing the nativity, so cute and made me even more broody, there where a few runaway sheep and some Angels who didn’t want to stay in place but still very sweet! One of the sheep was very funny and there was only one wise man and one shepherd which made a few giggle! We sang and felt very warm and fuzzy and I thought about my wonderful donor and his family.

So we got up and had breakfast and then helped with various little bits before everyone came round! I set the table with little lights and candles, and wooden table confetti (instead of plastic ones because we didn’t want the boys picking it up or creating a mess!)

We then went to the drawing room and opened up our presents from each other with a glass of champagne (for those who drink, I had Diet Coke! Hubby and I left our main presents at home as his was too heavy and mine was easily lost!)

Hubby bought me a great jumper that I loved, it says “Everyday I’m Brusselin’ “ - it’s great and it has 3 sprouts looking very festive! I love this as I love sprouts and my late Dad would definitely have appreciated this humour-he loved sprouts too!

All the ladies wore antlers to make us look more festive, I was also wearing my New York winter wonderland dress from Lindy Bop.

We had some lovely presents and we have now put them around our home (I’m a bit late to write this-no surprise there!)

I got a cute little mouse that is now sitting on our mantlepiece (some of you may know some may not but my nickname is mouse and hubby is bear! ) I like to collect little bear and mouse decor!

Hubby opening his new suit! Very smart!

We also got a new slow cooker as ours is now giving up the ghost and we wanted a bigger one as well!

One of the only pics that is us together over Christmas! It’s a lovely pic of us in our festive jumpers!

Me in my new jumper and dress!

After the presents we then watched the Queen’s Speech, which I got slightly emotional watching! I really felt touched by it!

We then had our Christmas dinner, which was delicious!

We then chatted for quite a while before heading off to bed.

Boxing Day we had a cold buffet lunch and then we raced wind-up turkey toys (which I think the adults were far more enthusiastic about than the children!)

We then intended to go for a walk and nearly got blown into the sea but it looked pretty!

Anyway as we are now in January I will be going back to posting once a week!
