Blogmas Day 8: Joining the WI

So as a Christmas treat to my self I decided that I would finally bite the bullet and actually take steps to join a WI! I had been looking on the WI website and saw a new group in Poundbury was being set up and I thought why not join. 

I was inspired by my favourite craft lady and fashion inspiration Kirstie Allsopp, who had joined a Devon group which were called the Desperate house wife’s WI! It occurred to me that it was a great way to meet like minded women, that love crafts, cooking, baking and learning interesting topics! 

I have self taught most of the craft skills but I would love to be taught how to knit and try other crafts that are more technical! 

Here are some of crafts that I’ve tried/attempted! 

Pyrography 

Sewing 

Painting, cake decorating, chutney making, teddy making, quilt making, paintings, drawing! 

To name but a few! So I’m sure I will add to my craft skills! I’m not saying I’m an expert at any of these or that my skills are perfect but I give it a go!
