Blogmas Day 3: Food glorious food
Ahhhhhhhh, I’m late for my Blogmas post - nightmare. Travelling and visiting friends means Blogmas blogging is a challenge!
This weekend has been a great weekend of fabulous food and tasty delights. At Hogwarts in the snow we had afternoon tea included as part of our Red Letter Day, I have to say it was so enjoyable. It wasn’t at the studios, but just around the corner in a very nice hotel! We had some lovely sandwiches in traditional afternoon tea combinations (why mess with something that’s delicious as it is - that’s what I say!) then we had a scone each which were warm and so delicious and then a mixture of mini cakes that we have saved to eat at home because we were so full, I woddled out! I think it was all that butter beer at lunch!
Our Butter Beer and obligatory moustaches!
And then believe it or not later we then went to dinner for more food, in our favourite restaurant in St Albans, The Thai Rack and the food was immense. It was the perfect choice, and just really good food and very reasonably priced too!
We had green and red Thai curry, sweet and sour beef, noodles, rice, banana fritters for hubby and I had a jasmine tea! Again I was so full I waddled back to our little B&B! Just a stone’s throw away from the restaurant and bar where we had a quick drink which was really handy!
It really was nice to go back for the nostalgia but it’s too busy and a bit hectic for me now!
Sunday lunch was at another favourite place we used to go to for a drink in a nice country pub which we adopted as our local! The Green Man in Great Offley. We were visiting my lovely friend who I met in hospital many moons ago now. We picked from the festive menu and it was just lovely to catch up with a friend in the festive season!
It was so cosy with the log fire we were sitting right next to and our friend’s lovely dog Paddy joined us and he had some turkey too! I had roast duck which is not Slimming World Friendly but I haven’t had duck in ages and then a lovely crumble - delicious! So now I’m going to be running a marathon to lose all of this food!
Anyway it will be salads and water for the next few days (crying face!)
