Belgium-Brussels and Bruge
So in 2013 we went to Belgium, Brussels to visit my cousin and then went on to visit Bruge. The building in Brussels were gilded in gold which was very impressive with ornate details that I thought were interesting. I love architecture so I was loving all the decorative buildings in the centre of Brussels.
La Grande Place was just beautiful and I took hundreds of pictures but I have only included a few of the best detail because we would be here forever and it would be a very long blog.......(5 hours later-haha!)
So we spent a bit of time with my cousin, we had lunch at an cute cafe and then we had dinner at a nice restaurant-forgotten now what it was called (long time ago and I have a rubbish memory bit like a sieve!) While we were walking around we had Belgium waffles but not even half way through my fork snapped and I got upset because I then couldn't eat my waffles, I was tired and cold and but I just wanted to sit down and eat my bloody waffles!! Errrr lets just say I got in a huff and threw the rest away! Pet Peeve I hate having to eat food when I can't sit down-take note people, it will make me hangry/tearful! (pic was before the fork broke.)
I also saw this horse and carriage was going past and I quickly snapped a picture so the yellow bus is unfortunately stuck in the background.
We then went to Bruge and we had a lovely time mooching about, it's easier to walk around it because it's more compact (I was still ill and anaemic- so struggled walking a lot as it was really painful and tiring.) It was so cute and I would love to go back. It had lovely architecture and lovely views on the canal and the waffles.
I finally got to eat my waffles sat down and these were yummy. I really fancy right now (might need to go back to the pancake place locally to me and as they serve Waffles-miss these delicious ones!)
I did try a cherry beer (shocking I know-I just wanted to try a bit to see what it was like!) From memory it was lovely actually! We had those beers right by the willow tree in the picture. It was quite a cool a bar and had bottles suspended from the air. Hubby loved the bar and all the different beers that he tried (the 4 taster beers above as well.)
I on the other hand found something that I really liked which was quite unexpected. Yes that's right I found not one but two Christmas shops in Bruge-Amazing! It's my thing now trying to find more Christmas shops in places I visit.
Sooooo cute and totally my dream to have my own Christmas shop/farm/place ..........Crazy I know but I just love Christmas all year round!
I really enjoyed our trip, I would love to go back in the future and explore more now I am better!
